I know if I had a goal of getting 70mpg, I'd likely be running it, after seeing what it does in my truck.Welcome to /r/Diesel, reddit's home for everything about compression motors! All content related to diesels is welcome here. So, the added cost may not be worth the benefit for your TDI, but for others it's awesome. ![]() Bill from Power Hungry Performance even did back to back dyno runs adding the Rev-X in between. Fires up instantly, idles smooth, can drive it down the street right away. Pour the Rev-X in, run it for 10 minutes. I'm talking like at one point I couldn't drive my truck without letting it warm up for 15 minutes, it would miss and jerk and run really rough until it was warmed up really well. That's where you notice HUGE improvements. It's not to say the hotshots wouldn't help ANY motor, but it just seems to work extremely well in HEUI injectors. The Rev-X I buy for my 6.0 is $35 per 4oz bottle, and I need two of them every oil change. I live up north in Quebec, Canada near Montreal. Befor the Stiction treatement it didn't start on the first try when below freezing. I'm guessing that soot build up on the Rods, camshaft and cylinder walls were removed partially by either product. It had an average syn oil not with diesel in mind (that 5w-30). Maybe the hot shot stiction and oil purge (by Lubro Moly) broke down alot of junk from my engine. Just 1 week and the oil was as black as the 1st but flowed way faster. Seems like a lot of sticky buildup came from my 2nd oil change. ![]() Poured in some Liqui Moly oil purge befor. Had to remove my undertray to have access (I have a '97 AHU with spin on filter) and did an oil change 1 1/2 week later. ![]() Poured in some hot shot in the week befor my O/C, and seems too idle smoother. My filter was stuke, so I poured in some new in w/o the filter change, got myself some tools to remove it. The previous owner put Castrol 5w-30 synthec. It seem to start faster and idled a little less rough after adding a little bit of Hot Shot after. If the powerstroke ford is the only one with oil activated injectors then why name every diesel maker? Did those old school indirect precombustion chamber types like the AAZ have oil activated injectors? I'm using mobil1 0w-40 full syn w/ VW505.00 spec. ![]() Funny that Hot Shot secrets claims to be made for :Ford, GM, Dodge, Volkswagen, Saab, Volvo & Tractors on their bottle.
